American Worldwide Academy (AWA) is a Christian Faith-Based, co-educational, private high school headquartered in Miami, Florida. Our goal is to provide the highest quality secondary education by utilizing our unique, distinctive, and prestigious section by section learning standard.
AWA was established with the vision of providing hope and opportunity for all. We are committed to continuously providing the means that encourage a vibrant learning environment which cultivates, promotes and nurtures the uniqueness of each student. AWA understands that every student ranges in aptitude, interest, socio-cultural background, socio-economic background and learning style. We assume the responsibility of providing an atmosphere, which encourages all students to strive for academic excellence relative to their own potential.
A vast majority of our graduates continue their education in just about every field imaginable. Our graduates currently are working in various career fields, attending universities, colleges, community colleges, technical schools, vocational schools, and trade schools across the nation. Also, a number of our alumni have enlisted in various divisions of the United States Armed Forces. Ultimately, our main focus at American Worldwide Academy is on preparing our graduates to find gainful employment and to earn an honest living.

Curriculum
All courses offered by American Worldwide Academy are set to the Common Core Standard (English and Math) and the Florida Sunshine State Standards. Courses (especially history, science, health, and parenting) are taught from a Christian perspective.

High School Diploma Programs
GENERAL DIPLOMA PROGRAM WITH CAREER TRAINING CERTIFICATE: This 18 credit program prepares students for entry for careers in various fields, while earning a high school diploma. The program emphasizes: customer service, retail sales, sales, hospitality, marketing, and management. Students will be provided with all books, supplies, study materials, class schedule, and direct teacher and counselor contact information. Each semester must be concluded with a final exam to ensure understanding of course materials. Students must complete: 4 credits in English, 3 credits in Math (one credit must be Algebra 1), 3 credits in Natural Science, 3 credits in Social Studies (with 1 credit American History, 1 credit in World History, and 1/2 credit each in US Government and Economics), 1 credit of Health, and 4 credits of focus on Career Certificate. Additionally, students must complete a capstone workshop to earn the Career Certificate. A minimum GPA of a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale is required for graduation.
NOTE: Students are required to meet with their school counselor at least once per month.
Evening and Weekend classes available

Requirements for Graduation
A student enrolled in the General Diploma with Career Training Certificate Program or the General Diploma Program must have earned a minimum GPA of 2.0 and at least 18 credits.
Credit Recovery Program
Students can take credits from AWA and transfer them back to the secondary institution (i.e. High School) that he or she currently attends. The student bears the responsibility to insure that credits will be accepted and approved prior to enrolling into American Worldwide Academy. A Maximum of 2 credits can be taken in this program.
Career Training Certificates
MARKETING/ SALES TRAINING CERTIFICATE: This is a four credit program designed to prepare students for entry level positions in Sales, or Retail Sales, Marketing, and Promotions. Students will be provided with all books, supplies, study materials, class schedule, and direct teacher and counselor information. Each semester must be concluded with a final exam to ensure understanding of course materials. Students must complete: 1/2 credit in Personal & Family Finance, 1/2 credit in Life Management Skills, 1 credit in Leadership Skills, 1 credit in Marketing Essentials, and 1 credit in Marketing Applications. Additionally, students must complete a capstone workshop to earn the career certificate.
CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING CERTIFICATE: This is a four credit program designed to prepare students for entry level positions in Customer Service and Retail Customer Service. Students will be provided with all books, supplies, study materials, class schedule, and direct teacher and counselor information. Each semester must be concluded with a final exam to ensure understanding of course materials.
